In a decision that is making some waves in the secular humanist community, former Congressman Barney Frank will be awarded the American Humanist Association's "Humanist of the Year" award for 2014. The waves stem from the fact that Congressman Frank came out as an atheist last August, well after he left Congress, and thus well after he could have given his voice to secular values on the floor of the capitol. Alas, another missed opportunity.
