Moscow Center Success
by Matt Cherry
The new Center for Inquiry in Moscow, Russia, has been attracting media attention in
Russia and speakers from around the world. Since its opening in September 1997, Mario
Bunge, one of the world's leading philosophers's of science, and American anthropologist
H. James Birx, have spoken at the Center. Bunge and Birx also represented the secular
humanist view to audiences of leading academics elsewhere in Russia, including St.
Petersburg. The Center for Inquiry, Moscow, is a joint project of the Council for Secular Humanism and the Committee for the Scientific Investigation of Claims of
the Paranormal (CSICOP).
