IHEU Names Executive Director
The following article is from the Secular
Humanist Bulletin, Volume 13, Number 1.
The International Humanist and Ethical
Union (IHEU) has named its first full-time executive director, just in time for the
January 1 move of its offices to London, England. G.R.R. Babu, 28, of Hyderabad, India,
emerged as a dynamic leader in that country's South Asian Humanist Network. He takes
command of an IHEU that has streamlined its structure and moved its executive offices in
order to better prepare itself to serve as the umbrella organization of global humanism in
the 21st century.
Today the IHEU has the largest and
most diverse membership in its history. By moving to London from its longtime base in
Utrecht, the Netherlands, and naming a salaried executive director, IHEU hopes to pave the
way for continued growth of humanism world wide.
