James Madison Memorial Committee

This committee keeps alive James Madison's commitment to the First Amendment and to liberty of thought and conscience. The group played a seminal role in arranging the transfer of Madison's residence from private hands to the National Trust. It periodically bestows the James Madison Freedom Award and other recognitions.
