Center for Inquiry Opens Le Salon

by Amy Schneider

October 15, 1997 saw the grand opening of Le Salon - the coffee house of the Center for Inquiry International. The opening ceremony and ribbon-cutting were conducted by our very own Executive Director Matt Cherry.

Le Salon provides a mellow and attractive environment, enabling the Center for Inquiry to hold more social events and recreational activities. Events will include poetry readings, jazz music, discussion meetings, string quartets, and magic shows.

It is appropriate Le Salon is named in tribute to the intellectually stimulating coffee houses of France, because the French have always appreciated that the three essential ingredients of civilized culture are good company, good conversation and great coffee.

Amy Schneider is the manager of Le Salon.
